Literacy

It’s often taken for granted that every Canadian can read and write. Unfortunately, this is far from the case, and many people – including English-speaking Townshippers – remain functionally illiterate. If you know of someone who needs literacy support, why not share with them what you discover here. You might help change that person’s life!

It’s no surprise that in today’s dynamic, fast-pace, high-tech work environment people need to be literate. It’s a fundamental of our society, just like basic math. In fact, most jobs today require at least some computer literacy, which is just a modern-day extension of reading, writing, and arithmetic. So if you do know someone that you think might need help reading, the following resources may be of interest.
