Details of the offer:
Under the supervision of the Coordinator, the candidate will participate in the development of community and educational visits to the Oasis Hamlet of Dunham. He or she will participate in the animation of educational activities on ecological and agricultural topics for youth in training at the organization and/or for different groups of visitors. The candidate will host educational activities and visits to the gardens dealing with organic gardening and farming, composting, cultivation of good environmental habits, alternatives to pollutants and environmental prevention.
Main tasks
• Develop the content of interpretive products and prepare the presentation • Participate in the promotion of heritage interpretation programs • Conduct workshops on environmental conservation • Welcoming visitors • Respond to questions and needs of visitors • Develop tools / interpretation activities all year • Participates in targeting community groups according to interests • Participates in team meetings • Performs other related duties in connection with organic horticultural techniques • Participate in the research and training component of the farm "the work tray” 2010 (Animation for youth employability 16-30 years) by teaming up with the person in charge.
Skills and Qualifications
• Professional attitude & behavior (skills for teamwork, autonomy, dynamism, interpersonal skills, honest, flexible, sense of initiative, organizational skills, etc.). • Knowledge of French and English. • Ability to popularize your knowledge and have pedagogical knowledge
• Strong interest in animation and environmental awareness.
• Good communication skills written and verbal. • An asset: being in a program connected (tourism, tour guide, horticulture and environment, ornamental horticulture, landscaping, etc..) • Preference for team work. • Be enrolled in school to obtain a vocational high school diploma (DEP) or college diploma (DEC) and provide proof of registration;
Conditions
The position is offered at 35 hours per week for 8 weeks (flexible hours) The salary is $ 10 per hour.
The candidate must be in good physical shape, and will sometimes be required to work evenings, weekends or holidays. The student must have been attending school in 2009-2010 and must be registered in a program in fall 2010 and must provide proof of registration.
